Members of the Saltwater Fly Rodders Club visited Kazy and
Joanne Kazahaya's home in Saugus
Saturday the 10 of April to present
Kazy with an Outstanding Service
Award. Kazy and Joanne graciously
welcomed us with Coffee, Juice and
some wonderful homemade coffee cake,
pastries and bagels. Kazy was in
great spirits and was his usual
animated self. When I asked how he
was doing he told me (with that Kazy
grin on his face) that some days are
good and some days are bad. On the
lighter side, about a half hour
after we arrived Joanne stood up and
announced that "Now that I have
invited you all here to take your
pick of Kazy Fishing equipment..."
You should have seen the look on
Kazy's face, darn if I only had the
presence of mind to take a picture
of him when she made that
announcement it would be worth a
thousand dollars.
Before our visited ended, Club president Mike Forrest presented Kazy with
the Outstanding Service Award for
his service over the years to our
Club. Kazy has been a member of our
club for over 25 years. He
originally joined the Club in 1969
shortly after it was founded but
could not remain active, he became
active again in 1985 and has served
as an officer for a number of years.
We all wish Kazy a speedy recovery
and look forward to his
participation in our Club events
once again.
